Are you aware that the legislation on child car seats is changing again?
At the moment, children as young as 3 years old (or who weigh more than 15kg - after all, they don't all come in the same size!) are able to use backless booster seats or booster cushions. However, new regulations are expected to come out in December this year, stating that these backless boosters will only be approved for older children who are taller than 125cm and weigh more than 22kg.
The good news is that this only affects sales of new car seats, so while the government's advice is to get a new seat if your child is using a backless booster and falls into the category described, it's not a legal obligation.
