When you run your own business, it's natural for the whole family to want to get involved! Just recently, to celebrate International Women's Day, I photographed Claire Ait-Hammi and her children - along with her husband (who was holding the fort on the day), Claire runs not one but two businesses. Given her line of work, it seemed only right to make it a picnic in the woods! Read Claire's story below...
"My husband and I have, in recent months, began two new businesses. The first business is The Med Shed. We are a pop up street food business specialising in providing fresh and homemade mediterranean wraps from our own recipes. We have only done one event so far but are currently trying to establish contacts to attend more events as and when they are in order to create more exposure.
Our other business is Luna Party Catering. We provide cold buffets to various events and occasions - particularly to children's birthday parties. We each have over 16 years' experience in catering and 7 years' experience in organising children's birthday parties so we aim to take the stress away from the parents. We also provide complete party organising where required.
Our two children are starting to be involved too. At our first event with The Med Shed they went around handing out our business cards and telling their friends that we were providing food. They have helped to create our buffet menus and provide us with constant feedback. Hopefully as they grow older they'll become more and more involved!"
